About Us

Chateau Gardens, a condominium complex, built in 1980, is located at 2 Radio Ave. on the north-easterly end of Secaucus, NJ. We are in a metro-surburban location within walking distance to Route 3 and Paterson Plank Road and access to major NJ Transit transporatation and Harmon Meadows shopping and dining.  A residential suburban neighborhood surrounds the complex to our north, including a town park, the town pool the town library and recreation center, and Mill Creek Point, a natural and riverfront walking park and bird watching point. The Secaucus Junction regional train station is 5 minutes from our complex and shuttle service is available within 1 block. We are also within 1 mile of the MetLife Sports Complex, IZOD Center, and the American Dream - Shopping Mall Development.

Our Units and Grounds

 

Chateau Gardens consists of 3 buildings. Building A consists of 20 units, B - 20 units, and C- 23 units, for a total of 63 units. Mixed throughout all 3 buildings  are 1 and 2 bedroom units. All units have 1 full bathroom, a dedicated kitchen, and dining area and at least 2-3 closets. 1 bedroom units range between 650-775sq ft. and 2 bedroom units range between 800-900 sq.ft. Each budilng has a communal laundry facility and a shared baseboard heating system, with individualized temperature controls for each unit. Each unit has 1 dedicated parking space and the parking area has over 30 Vistor parking spaces.  Lastly, each building has a well-landscaped front courtyard with a large grass area, trees, and plantings to infuse the benefits of privacy and natural surroundings within a metro-living enviornment.

Most of our owners are metro-NYC/NJ coast commuters with professional work experience. Our location provides fast access to shopping, dining, and transportation within a surburban backdrop of a closeknit small community with a high level of town services and great schools.

Ownership, The Board of Directors and Future Projects

When buying a condo, the owner of the condo owns his/her unit in many respects as a private homeowner own his/her home limited to the interior areas of the exterior walls, windows, ceiling, and floor of his/her condo unit. The common elements which surround the unit structurally and physically are maintained by the Chateau Gardens Condo Association. These common elements are owned, with undivided interest, by all unit owners. Monthly assessments are charged to each unit owner to maintain the grounds, buildings, and other elements to maitain and increase the quality of life and value of units for all owners.

The Board of Directors are elected each year, consisting of 5 members. The Board of Directors make decisions related to capital improvement projects, repairs, leins, and events to ensure efficient operation and management of our accounts and property. The Board of Directors also hires a management company to oversee the day-to day operations of our complex.

Since 2008, major capital improvements have taken place to increase the quality of lfe for all owners and tenants. We have invested in more efficent heating systems, our grounds are more colorful and welcoming, and our roofing and gutter systems are well-maintained. It is the role of the board to invest in long term projects that increase the quality of life for all owners and tenants and incease the value of our complex and units within our complex - this statement of expectations drives our board in making wise decisions to make Chataeu Gardens - a comfortble and affordable place to live.
